Parish of Wednesbury
The Church of England has a Parish System. This means that every part of the country is divided into parishes. Each parish has a Parish Church. If you live in the Parish - then that church is YOUR church! If you want to get baptised (or have a child baptised) or get married in church, you need to contact YOUR Church.
To find out your Parish Church please go to A Church Near You and enter your postcode. Living in the town of Wednesbury does not guarantee that you live in the Parish of Wednesbury. The website will tell you more.
This image shows a map of the Parish. (It is an image, not an actual map.) To see it in more detail click here to take you to the St Bart's entry at A Church Near You. Click on 'Find Us' and then select 'Parish Boundary View'.
Note: as of October 2016 the Parish of Wednesbury (ie St Bartholomew's) was merged with the Parish of St James Wednesbury to form a new Parish of Wednesbury, with St Bartholomew's as the Parish Church. Once the merge took place, everyone who lived in St James Parish was then living in the (new) Wednesbury Parish, with St Bartholomew's Church as their Church.
