Currently, the church hall is closed so we are not able to offer a lunch. When the hall reopens, we will let you know when the next one will be.

22nd April 2023
A BIG THANK YOU to those who helped at the Open Table lunch on Saturday. Many of the regular helpers were not there so those who did go worked extremely hard, especially as there were more diners than normal (approximately 43). Well done to everybody. The next one will be on 20th May.
Well done to the ladies who run the Open Table lunch club once a month in the Hall. A short while ago they were inspected by Sandwell Environmental Health Agency. They received ‘Excellent’ for compliance with food hygiene and safety procedures and ‘Excellent’ for compliance with structural requirements. We’re pleased to tell you that they received a 5 rating for Food Hygiene. Well done! Congratulations to all involved.

On Saturday 12th November, Joyce read the Remembrance Day poem during Grace. The meal was mince served with baby roast potatoes and carrots - a simple meal to commemorate the simplicity, but nourishing, meals of bygone days. There was a vegetarian option too. Dessert was a choice of strawberry or chocolate gateaux, to remind everybody how fortunate some of us are today.

11th June 2022:
On 11th June, the lunch club enjoyed a United Kingdom themed Afternoon Tea. There was a strawberry flan with cream representing England, Scottish shortbread, Welsh cakes and Fifteen from Northern Ireland. (I am told by Linda that 'Fifteen' is a very sweet dessert that is very popular in Northern Ireland. It contains 15 digestive biscuits, 15 glacé cherries and 15 marshmallows blended together with condensed milk and is then refrigerated.) In addition, sandwiches were served on cake stands along with mini sausage rolls, quiche, etc. It all sounds delicious! Thank you to all the ladies (and Mario) for the hard work planning, preparing and serving the meal. Thank you, also, to Claire for taking these photos.
14th May 2022:

The menu for the lunch on Saturday 9th April had an Easter theme of turkey with stuffing, roast potatoes and carrots. Dessert was a choice of chocolate sponge cake topped with chocolate ganache (home-made) and cream, or hot cross buns. Well done to everyone for their part in making the lunch such a success (from preparing, cooking and serving the meal as well as clearing up afterwards). Thank you to Mario for the entertainment too. A big thank you to Lynn Castillo for making the beautiful table decorations.
12th February 2022:
The Valentine's theme lunch on Saturday 12th February was successful. Thank you to the Linda R and Alison who worked hard to prepare and cook the lunch. Alison provided balloons and Mario was in charge of making the room look lovely. His fabulous folded napkin table decorations (with chocolates) completed the look and he showed a DofE participant and Linda S how to do this so they could make some. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped prepare the room, serve and clear up. A great team effort. Photos below.
The lunch on Saturday 6th November was a Guy Fawkes night theme serving jacket potatoes with a variety of fillings, followed by apple crumble or bread pudding and custard was available for those who wished to have it.
Our first Open Table meal for almost 2 years was on 9th October 2021. It was wonderful to see so many of our former diners again. We used our new refurbished kitchen and everyone liked the newly decorated and carpeted café area. All went well and Linda and Alison would like to thank all of the helpers they had on the day. (You can see a few photos from that day below.)
